The Saeta Paris company was registered in Paris in April 2021, and it makes silk lingerie designed in Brittany and sewn in France. The label is run by two women the brand names only as Soraya and Camille. Its pieces are cut from mulberry silk with French lace, and production is entrusted to a partner workshop near Reims that the brand describes as heir to a century of corset-making skill.
A young company with an old supply chain
The French business register gives the plain facts. SAETA Paris is a simplified joint-stock company (SAS) created on 8 April 2021, with its registered office in the 8th arrondissement of Paris and share capital of 16,000 euros. Its official activity code is 47.71Z, retail sale of clothing in specialized stores, the standard class for a label that sells its own goods direct. The register lists no headcount band, which usually means a very small firm.
So the label is new. What it sells, though, depends on some of the oldest structures in French lingerie, and the brand is open about them.
Three places in France
Saeta splits its work across three regions, and says so on its homepage.
- Design happens in its stylist's studio in Brittany.
- Manufacture goes to a partner workshop near Reims, in Champagne, described as heir to a hundred-year-old corsetry tradition.
- The company itself is registered in Paris, which supplies the name.
The Reims workshop is the interesting link. Small French labels that want to sell "made in France" rarely own a factory; they place their runs with an established workroom that has the machines and the skilled sewers. Saeta does not name its partner, and this entry does not guess.
Mulberry silk and Calais lace
Silk is the center of the range. The brand's own page praises mulberry silk, the fiber of the domesticated silkworm, for comfort and for being soft, hypoallergenic and kind to sensitive skin. Mulberry silk is the standard for fine silk lingerie because its long, even filament gives a smooth, lustrous cloth. It is also expensive and needs careful finishing at the seams, which is why most silk lingerie is either costly or not silk.
The lace partners, Saeta says, carry the "Dentelle de Calais-Caudry" mark and the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label, the French state's award for firms with rare craft skills. The Calais-Caudry mark identifies lace woven on the old Leavers machines in the two northern French lace towns, the most prestigious lace source in French lingerie. The brand's journal has a piece on why Calais lace is held in such regard.
Leïla, Grâce, Firouzeh
The collections carry women's names, several of them Persian in origin. Firouzeh is the Persian word for turquoise. Yasmine and Leïla are names shared across Persian, Arabic and French, and Ayda and Grâce complete the current list. The brand says it draws on art, travel and femininity around the world, and the naming makes that concrete.
The range covers the full boudoir wardrobe in a small number of pieces:
| Category | What Saeta offers |
|---|---|
| Bras | silk and lace cups, including soft styles |
| Briefs | full briefs, tangas and strings |
| Bodysuits | silk bodys |
| Robes | kimonos |
| Extras | accessories |
Prices on the brand's site run from about 40 euros for small pieces to about 210 euros for the most elaborate, which places Saeta at the accessible end of French luxury lingerie, well below the couture houses. The brand also writes about bridal lingerie, and silk with French lace is an obvious fit for a wedding bralette or a tanga under a gown.
How it compares
Saeta belongs to a wave of small French labels started in the last few years that sell direct online and make a point of French manufacture. Its distinguishing choice is to use silk across the range instead of saving it for a few top pieces. Earlier copy in our database called it a Parisian luxury house with haute couture influences; nothing on the brand's own pages claims couture, and the honest description is a young direct-to-buyer silk label.
The 8th arrondissement registration and the Brittany studio are the fixed points on the map so far, with a workshop near Reims doing the sewing.
