Calzedonia was founded in 1986 in Verona, Italy, by Sandro Veronesi with a singular focus: hosiery. The brand began as a specialty retailer of tights, stockings, and socks, applying Italian design sensibility to a category that most retailers treated as a commodity. Over four decades, Veronesi built Calzedonia into one of the world's largest hosiery companies and the parent group of a fashion empire that includes Intimissimi and Tezenis.

The Calzedonia Group now operates over 5,000 stores across more than 50 countries — a retail footprint that rivals the largest fashion conglomerates in the world.
