An Italian Love Story in Miami (1983)

Cosabella began with a love story. Ugo and Valeria Campello, an Italian couple who had relocated to Miami, founded the brand in 1983 with a name that translates to "beautiful thing" in Italian. They brought with them the Italian tradition of fine lingerie manufacturing — meticulous attention to fabric, construction, and the way a garment feels against the skin.

From their Miami base, the Campellos created a brand that fused Italian craftsmanship with American entrepreneurial energy. Every piece was designed in Miami and manufactured in Italy, combining the best of both worlds: the Campellos' intuitive understanding of Italian textile traditions and their immersion in the multicultural energy of South Florida.

The Never Say Never Revolution

Cosabella's "Never Say Never" collection, launched in the early 2000s, became one of the most successful lingerie lines in history. The Sweetie bralette — constructed from a single piece of Italian lace with no seams, no underwire, and no padding — was a revelation. It proved that a bra could be simultaneously beautiful, comfortable, and supportive without any of the hardware that the industry considered essential.

The Never Say Never Sweetie became a genuine cult product. Celebrities wore it. Fashion editors championed it. Lingerie boutiques couldn't keep it in stock. The design influenced an entire generation of bralettes and became the blueprint for the wire-free movement that would reshape the industry.

AI-Powered Innovation

In a surprising technological turn, Cosabella became an early adopter of AI in fashion marketing. The company replaced its digital marketing agency with an AI platform in 2017, using machine learning to optimize ad spending, personalize customer communications, and predict purchasing patterns. The results were impressive: a 336% return on ad spend.

Family Legacy

Cosabella remained family-owned through multiple generations, with the Campellos' children taking leadership roles. This continuity preserved the brand's commitment to Italian manufacturing and its distinctive blend of old-world craft and new-world innovation.
