Dominique Lingerie is the American bra and foundations label that trades as Dominique Intimate Apparel, best known for minimizers, longline bridal bras and strapless styles sold in band sizes from 30 to 52. Its online store, dominiqueapparel.com, ships within the United States from Brookfield, Connecticut, and the company says its styles are carried in hundreds of stores across the country. The brand's founding date and founders are not stated on its site or in any public source we could reach.
A bridal fitting room in a catalog
Bridal and special-occasion wear makes up a large share of the line. In October 2026 the online store listed 147 products, of which 53 sat in the bridal category, 75 in everyday bras and briefs, about 15 in shapewear and a handful in activewear. That proportion is unusual. Most bra brands treat bridal as a seasonal capsule. Dominique treats it as a core department.
The bridal styles show why. Francesca, style 8249, is a strapless longline bra in lace with a concealed hook-and-eye front under a smooth zip, a design meant to be fastened without help in a dressing room. Hannah, style 7759, is a lace push-up longline for shorter torsos and low-backed gowns. Margeau, style 8103, is a low-plunge strapless bra in satin and lace for deep-necked dresses, with lightly lined three-part cups. Oceane, style 3541, is a seamless strapless bra with hidden underwire, sold with straps included. These are problem-solving garments. Each one answers a specific dress.
Minimizers and the full-figure customer
The everyday side is built around support for fuller busts. The site sells several underwire minimizers. Jacqueline, style 7018, is cut in woven floral jacquard. Lena, style 7309, combines lace with a matte microfiber lining over a hidden wire. Mallory, style 7088, adds smoothing panels to the minimizing shape. The minimizer is an unglamorous category, designed to redistribute a full bust so that blouses button flat, and it rarely gets attention from fashion-led labels. Dominique keeps several in production at once.
The size chart explains the customer. Bands run from 30 to 52 and cups from AA to I. Colors are mostly practical: nude, latte, mocha, chocolate, ivory, champagne and black, with a few seasonal tones such as stone blue and purple orchid. Prices on the site sat between about $55 and $90 per bra in late 2026, mid-market for a supportive bra in extended sizes.
Everyday bras and shapewear
Below the specialty pieces sits a run of basics. Aimee, style 3500, is a molded contour T-shirt bra with microfiber-covered foam cups; Lacee, style 3501, is the same idea with a floral lace band. Talia is a front-closure T-shirt bra with a wide racerback for smoothing at the sides and back. The shapewear runs from Claire, a medium-control capri-length bodysuit, to Kate, a high-waisted thigh slimmer, and Morgan, a firm-control thigh shaper with a scoop back. The briefs include Bianca, a laser-cut seamless brief in stretch satin, and Tessa, a floral stretch-lace brief.
What the company says about itself
The brand's own account is brief. It describes its intimates as "foundations that look and feel as if they were made-to-measure," designed in "an ever-expanding size range," and says each piece is made under the eye of a production team with "over 60 years experience." That figure describes the team's combined experience, not the age of the brand, and the site does not give a founding year. Its FAQ says the products are sourced from around the globe, that the company works with ethical manufacturers, and that the business operates online only while its styles sell through hundreds of retail stores. Hand washing in cold water and flat drying are recommended for every piece.
This museum's archive holds 69 Dominique product records from a spring-summer 2012 collection, held in the private product archive, which shows the label was already producing its range well over a decade ago. The style numbering on the current site, with four-digit numbers for bras and lower numbers for shaping pieces, suggests a long-running line in which successful styles stay in production. On the current store, the bridal longline with a zip front is the piece that best explains the brand.
