The Short Answer
An adhesive bra is a pair of silicone cups that stick directly to the skin — no straps, no band, no traditional bra construction at all. A strapless bra is a fully engineered bra with underwire, molded cups, and a rigid underband — it just lacks shoulder straps. The adhesive bra is for backless garments; the strapless bra is for strapless garments that still have a back.

How to Tell Them Apart
An adhesive bra is two separate cups with a sticky inner surface — there's no connecting band or back piece. A strapless bra looks like a regular bra with the straps removed — full band, full structure, full closure at the back.
When to Wear Each
Adhesive bra: Under backless dresses, deep-V gowns, halter tops where even a strapless band would be visible. The only option when the garment's back is fully exposed. Best for A–C cups; larger sizes won't get meaningful support.
Strapless bra: Under strapless dresses, off-shoulder tops, and tube tops where the garment has enough back coverage to hide the band. Provides real support across all cup sizes.
Care Tips
Adhesive: Wash the adhesive surface with mild soap after each wear and air dry. Store with the protective film on. Never use lotion on the chest before wearing — oil destroys the adhesive bond.
Strapless: The silicone grip strips along the top edge need occasional wiping. If the band stretches out and the bra starts sliding, it's time to replace it — a strapless bra that doesn't grip is useless.
