This class covers all the high-gloss opaque "statement" materials used in fetish-inspired and fashion-forward lingerie: genuine leather, faux leather (polyurethane), vinyl (PVC), and latex (natural or synthetic rubber).
They share visual characteristics: they're always opaque, always glossy or high-shine, and always stiff or semi-stiff (no soft drape). The silhouettes that use these fabrics tend to be assertive — harnesses, bustiers, bodysuits, dominatrix-inspired styles.
We don't split them into separate classes because the classifier can't reliably tell real leather from PU from vinyl from a photo. The encyclopedia page describes each.
