In the intricate ecosystem of fashion, where the body becomes both canvas and commodity, NY Model Management has made a strategic appointment that resonates with the industry's evolving ethos. The agency, founded three decades ago by Heinz Holba as a sister enterprise to his LA Model business, has named Jen Rubinetti as its new women's director. She steps into the role vacated by Tony Vavroch, an eight-year veteran promoted to head of client services.

Rubinetti brings nearly two decades of editorial and commercial experience - 13 years at Women Management and six as a senior agent at Elite Model Management in New York. Her career, much like the structured foundations of a fine corset, has been about support and elevation: developing iconic talent, nurturing client relationships, and guiding models through the arc of their careers.

Yet what sets Rubinetti apart is her parallel passion. Beyond the runway, she is a wellness coach and somatic practitioner, creating retreats where women reconnect with themselves. As she wrote on LinkedIn, the goal is to help women "be present, be peaceful, be powerful." This holistic approach echoes lingerie's own history - from the restrictive whalebone corsets of the 19th century to the liberating bralette movements of the 1960s - where the undergarment has always been a tool for both constraint and empowerment.

NY Model Management, which expanded its menswear division last June with former Wilhelmina executives, now signals a new chapter for its women's roster. Rubinetti's appointment suggests that the fashion industry, like the lingerie it so often showcases, is learning to balance structure with softness, ambition with inner peace.
