Nike and Skims — the lingerie brand founded by American TV star and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian — have launched a new sports uniform collection and immediately faced online criticism, including the comment “They really hate women.”
Critics filled Kardashian’s Instagram page with complaints about the design. The set features a strapless crop top and a short-legged one-piece made of satin in coffee and nude tones. Commenters said the outfit was uncomfortable and unclear for any sport. One called it “women’s clothing for the male gaze” and asked whether any woman had helped create it. Others said shorts ride up and straps fall off, demanded clothes for “more realistic bodies,” and asked why women’s sportswear still has to be so tight. “This is disappointing,” one person wrote.
