Samara Weaving turned heads at the D23 Disney Entertainment Showcase on Friday in Anaheim, Calif., where she joined her fellow cast members to introduce the next chapter of the Marvel "X-Men" franchise. The actress channeled her character Emma Frost with a white Vivienne Westwood minidress that featured the designer's signature punk edge, including asymmetric straps, a rounded neckline, and a form-fitting bodice with added definition at the hips.

The crisp, snowy color scheme was a clear nod to Frost, also known as the White Queen, and Weaving completed the look with pointed-toe Gianvito Rossi pumps and a classic diamond bezel tennis necklace from Sophia D jewelry. This appearance marked her first publicity event as an official cast member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's take on the "X-Men." Her character is a mutant with powers that include telepathy and the ability to transform into organic diamond.

The role was previously played by January Jones in the 2011 film "X-Men: First Class," with costume designer Sammy Sheldon drawing inspiration from past illustrations of the character to create an all-white wardrobe. Weaving's upcoming "X-Men" film is still in pre-production, with a planned 2028 release. She will be joined by Christopher Abbott as Charles Xavier, Inde Navarrette as Anna Marie, and Adam Driver as Nathaniel Milbury, among others. The franchise's next phase was teased with Sadie Sink's appearance in "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," where she played mutant telepath Jean Grey.

Method dressing has become increasingly prominent on red carpets in recent years, driven by stylist Law Roach's work with Zendaya and the coordinated looks of stars like Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande during the "Wicked" press tours. With her introduction as Emma Frost, Weaving appears ready to follow that trend.
