Florentine luxury house Stefano Ricci is pressing forward with its global travel series, "SR Explorer," even as the high-end market cools. For spring 2027, the brand set its sights on Tanzania, a destination creative director Filippo Ricci describes as "where the earth breathes." Over nine days, the team moved through Tarangire, Serengeti, and Gombe Stream, shooting campaign images with National Geographic photographer Ami Vitale. The result: a collection heavy on safari field jackets in Giza 45 cotton, linen, and lightweight wool, paired with drawstring trousers, Bermuda shorts, and cargo pants. Eveningwear takes cues from Maasai motifs, woven into tuxedo blazers by the brand's own Antico Setificio Fiorentino mill. A standout detail: silk shirt-and-trouser sets in sage, beige, and tobacco, inspired by the custom shirts Stefano Ricci once made for Nelson Mandela. The collection hits Pitti Uomo in June. On the social side, the company has partnered with the Jane Goodall Institute Tanzania to support chimpanzee conservation. CEO Niccolò Ricci reports 2025 sales of €217 million, up 1%, and notes that the first four months of 2026 show 2% growth despite headwinds in the Middle East. New stores are planned for Batumi, Mexico City, and Rome.
