The Lingerie Museum: Tessa Thompson's White Jude Pumps - A Study in Structural Contrast

Tessa Thompson's latest footwear choice for her "The Fear of 13" press tour is a lesson in deliberate restraint. At ABC Studios in New York, the actress paired a riot of mixed prints with Jude's Haze pumps in white leather - a 7.5 cm heel with an almond toe, open upper, and tapered silhouette that cuts low across the instep before rising to a covered heel with a dark tip. It's a quieter iteration of the sculptural language that has made Jude a rising star in the footwear world, founded by Jurgita Dileviciute and Denitsa Bumbarova, and honored with the FNAA Emerging Talent Award in 2025.

Against Giovanna Flores' fall 2025 ready-to-wear dress - a patchwork of black floral, mustard paisley, burgundy satin, and a purple checked panel - the white pumps acted as a visual full stop. They grounded the chaos, much as a corset or garter belt once structured the billowing fabrics of the 19th century. Thompson's accessories - a slouchy white pouch bag, black rectangular Lu Goldie sunglasses, and gold rings - echoed that clean, editorial finish.

This is not Thompson's first dance with Jude. In November, she wore the brand's Fame pumps in white with an oversize black Palomo skirt suit. In December, she slipped into Jude's pink silk satin Sky mule. In February, she returned to the Fame pump in black patent. The Haze pump, softer and lower, marks a subtle evolution - a shift from statement to punctuation. Gabrielle Union, Cameron Diaz, Simone Ashley, and Bella Hadid have all favored Jude's Fame pump, but the Haze offers a different kind of allure: quiet, deliberate, and deeply considered.

Thompson is currently starring in her Broadway debut, "The Fear of 13," at the James Earl Jones Theatre. The play, about Nick Yarris's wrongful death-row conviction, runs through July 12. In her styling, as in her craft, Thompson proves that the most powerful choices are often the most precise.
