Kylie Jenner made her Victoria's Secret Fashion Show debut on Oct. 18, modeling the famed Fantasy Bra as the lingerie piece returned to the catwalk after an eight-year absence.
The $50 million bustier featured a yellow diamond centerpiece worth $22 million alone, along with 4,410 other natural diamonds. Jenner joins past wearers of the honor, including Gisele Bündchen, Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio and Candice Swanepoel.
Victoria's Secret chief creative officer Adam Selman told Vogue the choice came down to Jenner's wide reach. "Kylie really extends beyond fashion, beyond culture, beyond TV, beyond one singular thing," he said, calling her "a great catalyst" for a show built around fandom.
Selman described the bra as "almost museum quality." Weighing just under 4 lbs., it took 15 Jacob & Co. craftspeople more than 1,000 hours to build. Designer Jacob Arabo told Vogue the all-gold-and-diamond piece has no fabric, making fit and natural movement the hardest parts.
Jenner was cheered on by boyfriend Timothée Chalamet and Kris Jenner during her walk. She captioned a close-up of herself in the bra on Instagram, "BEST DAY EVER."
