Cameamile is a Russian swimwear brand, founded in 2020 and sold through its own Russian-language online shop at cameamile.com. It began as a small sportswear label making track pants, hoodies, T-shirts and sweatshirts, and in 2022 it released its first collection of swimsuits, which soon became the core of the business. Today it sells one-piece swimsuits and bikinis cut from Italian fabrics, alongside hair accessories, cosmetic bags, robes and a little lingerie.
A sportswear start in 2020
The brand's about page tells a short, practical story. The first Cameamile products were basics for the gym and the street: "sportivnye shtany, tolstovki, futbolki i svitshoty," athletic pants, hoodies, T-shirts and sweatshirts. That is a common starting point for small labels, because jersey basics are relatively cheap to produce in small runs and easy to sell through social media.
The site does not give a founder's name or a home city, and the museum found no Wikipedia article or trade coverage that would. Those fields stay blank in the record.
The 2022 turn to swimwear
In 2022 the brand changed direction and launched its first swimsuit collection. According to the company, that collection became its main line of business. The shift is visible in the shop today, where swimwear and accessories lead and the sportswear origins are no longer featured.
Swimwear is a demanding category for a young label. A swimsuit has to hold its shape wet and dry, survive chlorine, salt and sunscreen, and fit closely at bust, hip and seat without the forgiveness of a loose sweatshirt. Cameamile's answer is fabric. The brand says its swimsuits are made from "premialnykh italyanskikh tkanei," premium Italian fabrics, and presents this as the main mark of quality. Italy is one of the best-known sources of swim jersey in Europe, and naming the fabric's origin is a standard way for small labels to signal a step up from generic polyester.
Mediterranean mood, Russian market
The design reference is southern Europe. Cameamile says its look draws on Mediterranean culture and summers by the sea, and its stated customer is a woman who "loves freedom and adventure." Each model is given its own name, meant to carry the mood of its collection, a practice that makes a small range feel like a wardrobe of characters rather than a list of style codes.
The product mix reflects that holiday story. Alongside one-piece swimsuits and bikinis, with tops such as the triangle bra shape and coordinating bikini bottoms, the shop sells hair clips, elastics and combs, cosmetic bags and robes. These accessories raise the average order and give customers something to buy outside the short swim season, which matters for a brand whose main market has long winters.
How the shop works
Cameamile trades in rubles and, on the evidence of its site, mainly within Russia. It offers free delivery on orders over 10,000 rubles, sells gift certificates, takes card payments through a Russian bank's payment service and handles customer contact through Telegram. A customer gallery on the site collects photos posted by customers wearing the brand, a standard social-proof device for direct-to-consumer labels.
That setup is typical of the Russian direct-to-consumer swim and lingerie scene that grew after 2022, when many international brands left the market and domestic labels moved into the gap. Cameamile's own pages do not draw that connection, and the museum notes it as context rather than as the brand's explanation for its pivot.
Cameamile today
When the museum checked, Cameamile was trading normally, with seasonal sales, gift certificates and a range led by named swimsuits in Italian fabric, backed by the accessories that keep a summer brand busy in winter.
