OW Intimates is the lingerie-adjacent line of OW Collection, a Danish women's fashion label founded in Copenhagen in 2016 by its creative director, Sonja Davidsen. The line is built around fitted bodysuits and close-to-the-body pieces meant to be worn as the top half of an evening outfit. It has no separate company behind it. The domain owintimates.com simply redirects to the main OW Collection store, and the intimates sit in the same catalog as the dresses, skirts and tailoring.
A Copenhagen label that dresses for the evening
OW Collection describes itself as a going-out label, designing clothes for dinners, events and late nights. Its own phrasing is that the look combines Scandinavian minimalism with American confidence, and that pairing explains a lot about the product. The cuts are clean and the color range is narrow, which is Danish. The silhouettes are tight, short and made to be photographed, which is closer to Los Angeles than to Copenhagen.
Every collection is designed in Copenhagen by Davidsen and an in-house team, and the company says it develops pieces from scratch with close attention to fit and movement. That matters more for a bodysuit than for most garments. A bodysuit is judged by whether it stays flat at the waist, holds its shape across the back and closes comfortably at the gusset. Any flaw shows immediately under a pair of trousers.
The bodysuit as the core of OW Intimates
Search the OW catalog for intimates and the answer is mostly bodysuits. The site lists about fifteen in that category at the time of writing, priced roughly between 80 and 110 US dollars, with names in capital letters in the house style: LAYCE, CURVE and TWIST among the best sellers. The names do the describing, pointing to lace, shaping and draped effects rather than to model numbers.
The bodysuit has an interesting place in lingerie history. It descends from the one-piece corselette and the leotard, and for most of the twentieth century it was firmly underwear or dancewear. Donna Karan's 1985 "Seven Easy Pieces" put a bodysuit at the center of a working wardrobe, and since then it has drifted steadily outward. OW's version sits at the far end of that drift. It is engineered like lingerie, with a snap gusset and a body-hugging fit, but it is sold as a top.
That positioning puts OW Intimates near brands like Skims, which also built a business on bodysuits, though OW's angle is evening wear rather than shapewear. The materials named on the site reflect that. Lace and satin appear far more often than the power mesh and compression knits a shapewear brand would use.
Selling through REVOLVE and social media
OW Collection's home page highlights a partnership with REVOLVE, the Los Angeles-area online retailer that has built much of its business on young labels with strong social followings. The brand also points to coverage in Vogue, Elle, Nylon and Harper's Bazaar, and lists celebrity customers on its about page, including the singers Tyla and SZA and members of the Kardashian family. Those names are the brand's own claims, but they fit the pattern. OW sells through images: a bodysuit worn on stage, a dress worn to a party, then reposted.
The company ships to the United States free of charge and uses Delivered Duty Paid shipping for international orders, so customers outside the European Union are not hit with customs fees on arrival. For a Danish label whose most visible customers are American, that detail is not trivial.
How the line relates to lingerie proper
It would be a stretch to call OW Intimates a lingerie brand in the traditional sense. There are no underwired bras in band and cup sizes, no matching briefs sold by the set, and no foundation garments. Sizing runs from XS to XL, the way dresses are sized. What the line does have is the vocabulary of lingerie: lace, snap closures, sheer layers and body-skimming fits, translated into pieces worn in public.
That translation is one of the defining moves of fashion since the 1990s, when slip dresses and visible bra straps first became evening wear. OW Intimates is a tidy example of where it has landed. A Copenhagen design team makes a garment that once belonged in a drawer, gives it a name in capitals, and sells it to be seen on a night out.
The line has grown alongside the wider OW Collection, which a decade after its founding remains led by Davidsen and still designs every piece in Copenhagen.
