The Zimmermann Sisters (1991)

Nicky and Simone Zimmermann started their fashion journey in 1991 at Paddington Markets, a weekend market in Sydney's inner east where aspiring designers sold handmade garments from folding tables. The sisters' swimwear stood out immediately: feminine, intricate, and unlike anything else in the Australian market.

From that market stall, the Zimmermanns built one of Australia's most successful fashion exports, growing from a swimwear label into a full luxury ready-to-wear brand with flagship stores in New York, Los Angeles, London, and Paris.

The Swim Heritage

Zimmermann's swimwear remains the brand's soul. Each season's swim collection features the trademark combination of feminine detailing, bold prints, and construction quality that set the brand apart from its origins. Zimmermann swimwear was among the first to incorporate fashion details — ruffles, embroidery, intricate cutouts — into technically functional swim pieces.
