Coral is a pink-red with enough orange to look warm. Pantone made it a talking point when it named Living Coral (16-1546) its Color of the Year for 2019.
In lingerie, coral is mostly a warm-weather color: lace bralettes, bikini-cut briefs, satin camisoles and cross-over pieces that sit between underwear and swimwear. Synthetic lace holds it brightly.
Coral pairs with ivory, navy and gold. It shows through white clothes nearly as clearly as red. The classifier separates it from peach by saturation, since peach is paler, and from red by its orange cast. Pink sits on the cooler side.
