Orange is one of the least common colors in lingerie. Most ranges skip it entirely, and when it appears it is usually in a summer capsule, a sporty bralette, or as a neon contrast on black or grey. Burnt orange and rust appear in autumn instead, often in satin or ribbed knits.
Bright oranges hold well on polyester and nylon. Under clothing orange is very visible, even more than red under thin white cotton.
It pairs with navy, fuchsia, cream and olive. The classifier separates orange from coral, which is pinker, from peach, which is paler, and from mustard, which is darker and more yellow. A burnt orange in low light can be labelled brown.
