B. Swim

B. Swim

B. Swim is a Southern California swimwear label that spent most of its life inside Sunsets Inc., the family-owned swim company in Harbor City, Los Angeles. Designer Nikol Taylor led it from 2006, and it was known for loud prints, custom trims and sizes from XS to XL with D-cup tops. In 2025 the label relaunched as "B Swim" with satin, lurex and an art collaboration, and by 2026 its old web address forwarded to a "Bestswimwear by B Swim" collection at the Hermosa Beach retailer Bestswimwear.

A print label inside Sunsets

The brand's archived website from 2015 lists its corporate office at 24511 Frampton Avenue, Harbor City, California, and every contact on the page, from the sales manager to customer service, has an @sunsetsinc.com email address. B. Swim was, in practice, a fashion-forward sister line to Sunsets, the company that built its business on selling bikini tops and bottoms separately, and to Swim Systems, its more practical label.

That parentage explains the sizing. The 2016 "About" page promises sizes XS to XL "including D-cups," prints and solids. A separates company that sells bra-sized swim tops brought the same thinking to its trend label: a bold print was offered in a cut that would actually hold a fuller bust.

Nikol Taylor and the saturated print

The 2015 site has a separate page for the designer. "The visionary charging B.Swim's bright and dynamic energy since 2006," it says, is Nikol Taylor, whose background ran through trend forecasting, illustration, film, styling and denim. The page credits her with the brand's saturated prints and colors and lists her influences: vintage, pop culture, street style, flea markets, Australian beach life, interior design and travel.

Whether B. Swim existed before Taylor took over is not stated, so 2006 is the start of her tenure, not a confirmed founding date. The house style from that period is clear from the archived pages: one-of-a-kind prints, custom trims, and pieces pitched at what the site calls "sandy beaches to summer festivals." The museum's own record of the label is a Summer 2021 collection of 77 pieces.

The 2025 relaunch

In 2025 the site was rebuilt under a slightly different name, B Swim without the full stop, with a new contact number and a new pitch. The "All About B" page described a collection built on fabric rather than print: high-shine satin, shimmering lurex and mesh details on bikinis and one-pieces, with "limited-edition designs" and "luxury-grade fit." Destinations named as inspiration ran from the Hormuz Islands to the Mariana Trench.

The most specific piece of the relaunch was a collaboration with Mikkel Westrup, a Copenhagen artist known for hand-painted blue-and-white porcelain. The resulting print, "Deep Sea Chinoiserie," set icy blue florals against barbed chains. It ran across a full capsule:

PiecePrice
Fata Morgana one-piece$148
Delta pareo cover-up$96
Bermuda board short$88
Auger bralette top$88
Hadal high-waist bottom$86
Poseidon bottom$74
Adriatic tie-side bottom$68
Bahama board short cover-up$68

Board shorts and size guides for men's styles appeared in the site's page list that year, a sign the relaunched label was not purely womenswear.

Bestswimwear by B Swim

By 2026 the address bswim.com no longer opened a B Swim store. It redirected to a collection page on Bestswimwear titled "Bestswimwear by B Swim." Bestswimwear started in 1996 as Beachy Keen Bay, a bikini shop a block from the ocean in Hermosa Beach. It went online in 2009, acquired the Bestswimwear name in 2010, and opened a second store in the Belmont Shore neighborhood of Long Beach in 2021. It calls itself a women-led business and stocks Sunsets, Swim Systems and other Southern California labels.

The B Swim collection there in 2026 was a print called Mango Market, cut as an Aruba top, a Hailey halter, a Bermuda triangle, a Tahiti tie-front top, a Rip Tide hipster and a Stardust one-piece. Most pieces were marked final sale, with tops reduced from around $94 to $25 and the one-piece from $164 to $50. Filters offered triangle, halter, bralette, over-the-shoulder and underwire tops and D and DD sizing, the old Sunsets formula still visible.

Neither company has published how the B Swim name moved from Sunsets to a retailer's own-label collection, and this entry does not guess. What the record does show is a label that has passed through three addresses since 2015 and still sells bra-sized tops in bright prints.
