Comexim

Comexim is a small bra maker in Łódź, Poland, that designs and sews lingerie for women with large busts and relatively small backs, in cup sizes from D to N. By its own account the company has made women's lingerie since 2004, first under the label Linea Artesana, and it sells direct from a workshop address on Brukowa Street.

Earlier editions of this encyclopedia gave 1999 as Comexim's founding year. The company itself dates its lingerie production to 2004, and it describes itself as a manufacturing and trading company, so the earlier date may belong to the trading business. We have not been able to confirm it.

Brukowa Street, Łódź

Comexim is very much a Łódź business. The city was the capital of Polish textiles from the nineteenth century, and under the socialist economy most of the country's underwear came from state plants there and in Białystok. When those plants were privatized or closed after 1989, their skilled workers fed a generation of small private sewing firms. Comexim is one of them: a small operation with a workshop address in the city, orders taken by phone and email, and an online shop priced in zloty.

The company says plainly who it sews for. Its bras run from D to N cups, but most of its customers wear F and above. Bands start at a European 60, the equivalent of a UK or US 28, which few Western mass brands offer in deep cups.

Spanish embroidery on stable knit

The house style is a structured, decorative bra. Comexim says its look comes from Spanish embroidery, combined with stable knitted fabrics and carefully chosen trims, and that it reworks each new collection based on its own experience and on customers' suggestions. Construction aims for lift and a rounded, forward shape, with a firm band that does the supporting work.

Prices are moderate by Western standards. In 2026, most bras on the company's site sell at around 210 to 220 zloty, with older models discounted.

What Comexim makes

The catalog is organized by cut rather than collection:

• plunge bras, in several fabrics and embroideries
• balconette bras and a longline balconette
• half-cup bras
• nursing bras
• bralettes, camisoles, swimwear and pajamas
• briefs and thongs to match

Models carry women's names, such as Elza, Madison, Stella, Nadia and Selena, and a plain plunge called Basic comes in black, white and beige. Some pieces are sold as "hand made Poland", which matches the scale of the business. The shop also stocks men's underwear made by the Spanish company Guasch, a sideline the company added as a gift option.

Made after the order

Comexim tells customers that shipping takes about ten working days and that orders are prepared strictly in the sequence they arrive. That timetable suggests a workshop finishing in small batches rather than a warehouse with deep stock.

Comexim and the full-bust internet

Comexim's international reputation was built online. From about 2008, Polish bra forums pushed manufacturers toward small bands and big cups, and brands such as Ewa Michalak answered. English-speaking bra-fitting communities then discovered the Polish makers, and by the end of the 2010s American newspapers, including The New York Times in 2019, were reporting that women who could not find their size at home were ordering bras from Poland.

Comexim became one of the names passed around in those circles. Its English-language pages are short, its product names are in Polish and its customer service runs by email and phone.

That modesty is part of the story. Comexim is a reminder that much of the full-bust revolution of the 2010s was carried out not by global brands but by workshops in Łódź, sewing small runs in sizes the big companies did not stock.
