Danielle Guizio is a New York womenswear label founded in 2014 by the self-taught designer of the same name, now trading simply as Guizio. It is a fashion house rather than a lingerie maker, but its best-known pieces are corsets and close-fitting tops built on lingerie construction, which is why it appears in this encyclopedia. The brand runs its own stores in New York, West Hollywood and Miami and sells online under the line "From New York, With Love."
A self-taught start in New York
The company's own account is brief. Guizio launched the label in 2014 without formal design training and built it around the city's street and club subcultures, which she cites as her main source of ideas. Today the company describes its range as woven knits, structured suiting and form-fitting silhouettes, and the corset is its calling card.
The name changed along the way. The brand that once lived at danielleguizio.com now trades as Guizio, and the old domain has lapsed into a parked page. The current shop sits at danielleguiziony.com, and guizio.com forwards there.
The Guizio corset
The brand describes its signature corsets as "emboldened with asymmetrical details, purposeful cut-outs, ruching and custom hardware." In practice that means corset tops meant to be worn as outerwear, over jeans or under a blazer, rather than shapewear hidden beneath clothes.
That is part of a wider shift. Through the late 2010s and early 2020s the corset came out of the lingerie drawer and into ready-to-wear, carried by designers who borrowed the boning, the shaped panels and the hooks of underwear and cut them in suiting fabric, denim or satin. Guizio's take keeps the waist-defining shape but plays with symmetry. One side might be cut away, or the hardware might be made a visible feature instead of hidden at the back. Readers who want the underwear ancestors of these pieces can compare the corset bra and the longline bra, both of which use the same principle of support spread down the torso.
Celebrity reach
Like many New York labels of its generation, Guizio grew through photographs of famous customers. The company names the Hadid sisters, members of the Kardashian-Jenner family, Rosalía, Blackpink and Lady Gaga among those who have worn its clothes. Its pieces fit the celebrity street-style picture well: a corset top, a micro mini skirt and a jacket, shot leaving a restaurant.
Collaborations have kept the name in the trade press. WWD has reported on Guizio's capsule collections with Puma, including a '90s-flavored range and a limited all-black version of the Speedcat sneaker. The brand has also worked with the eyewear label Quay and released an in-house boot capsule.
Guizio's stores
Guizio is unusual among young American labels in investing in its own shops. It lists three:
- 81 Greene Street in SoHo, New York
- 8723 Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood, California
- an upper-level unit at 19565 Biscayne Boulevard in Miami, Florida
The press page links to coverage of the founder "betting big on physical retail in 2026," and to an interview about turning the brand into a one-stop shop for its customers. That ambition shows in the catalog, which now runs from corsets, tops and dresses to denim, suiting, outerwear, shoes, handbags and accessories, at prices from about $78 to about $348.
Where it sits
Guizio belongs with fashion labels that treat lingerie shapes as everyday clothing, closer in spirit to For Love & Lemons than to a bra specialist. Its corsets and fitted tops overlap with intimates in cut and construction, and its records here should be read as fashion pieces with lingerie bones. More than a decade after its launch, the company is still run under its founder's name and is still opening doors on the street rather than closing them.
