Devi Swim, styled DEVI-SWIM by the company, is a small French swimwear label founded by Marine Dauchez, a model with more than ten years in the fashion industry, and sold online from a French-language store at devi-swim.com. Its suits are handmade in a small atelier in Bali, and each one carries a piece of rose quartz. The range is tight: a handful of bikini tops, matching Brazilian-cut bottoms and a single one-piece, priced in euros.
A Sanskrit name
The name comes from Sanskrit, where devi means "goddess." The brand builds its whole pitch on that word. Its tagline, in French on the site, translates roughly as "every woman has a goddess inside her; she only has to recognize her and wake her up to set her free." It is a big line for a swimsuit, and the brand leans into it without irony.
What the name signals in practical terms is the founder's taste. The brand story describes collections inspired by travel, the ocean and beach culture, and a stated aim to reveal "the beauty, the sensuality and the elegance" of the women who wear them. Read alongside the products, that means body-conscious cuts and a resort sensibility rather than sport or modest swim.
The model behind the label
Dauchez came to swimwear from the other side of the camera. A decade of modeling means a decade of fittings, shoots and swim campaigns, and a working knowledge of what flatters on a beach and what only flatters under studio lights. Plenty of swim labels of the past twenty years have started this way, with a model or stylist deciding to make the suit she could not find. The museum makes no claim about Dauchez's modeling career beyond what the brand's own page states.
Rose quartz in every suit
The detail that sets Devi Swim apart is a stone. Each swimsuit includes rose quartz, which the brand presents as a symbol of self-love and confidence, linked to goddesses of beauty in several ancient cultures. The site does not explain, in the pages the museum read, exactly how the stone is attached or where on the garment it sits.
Hardware on swimwear is nothing new: rings at the hip, sliders on the straps, metal toggles at the neck. A natural stone is less common, and it puts the brand closer to jewelry than to technical swim. For the buyer it is a small, physical piece of the story she can hold.
Brazilian cuts, made in Bali
The bottoms are the core of the range. Devi Swim describes them as Brazilian cut, shaped to show off the figure "with subtlety." A Brazilian back sits between a full bikini brief and a thong: narrower than a classic bikini bottom, with a scooped rear that shows part of the seat. The museum's comparison of tanga and Brazilian cuts covers the fine line between them.
Production happens in Bali, at what the brand calls a small-scale atelier committed to fair working conditions and careful finishing. The brand stresses the human scale of the workshop rather than volume.
The current range
At the time the museum checked, the shop listed:
| Piece | Type | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Cali | one-piece | 115 euros |
| Rio, Tess, Frida | bikini tops | 70 euros each |
| Rio, Tess, Frida | Brazilian bottoms | 45 euros each |
Tops and bottoms share names, so each style is sold as a pair of separates that can be bought in different sizes. The shop runs on Shopify, takes the usual cards and wallets, and promotes seasonal discounts with codes. The museum could not confirm fabric composition from the collection page.
What remains unconfirmed
The brand's site does not give a founding year, a company address or a city, and the museum found no registry entry it could read without identification. France is inferred from the language, currency and terms of the site, not from a stated address. The archive holds 15 product records under the Devi Swim name, kept private like all product records here, and matched to this label by name.
