The Brazilian brief is named for its origin in Brazilian beachwear. It has very narrow side seams (close to the hip bone), a moderately-covered rear (more than a tanga, less than a full brief), and typically a low or mid rise at the front.
Often used interchangeably with "tanga" depending on the brand, but strictly speaking the Brazilian has more rear coverage than a tanga.
How to Identify

- Moderate rear coverage (more than tanga, less than full brief)
