Orkide

Orkide is a Turkish lingerie label based in Istanbul, trading online as Orkide İç Giyim ("Orkide Underwear") and on social media as Orkide Lingerie. Its catalogs, filed with the Fashion Model Directory for Autumn/Winter 2019 and Spring/Summer 2021, show molded and lace bras, suspender belts and stockings, much of it in white and ivory. Who founded it, and when, cannot be confirmed from independent sources.

Not the cooking-oil Orkide

The name causes confusion in Turkey before it causes it anywhere else. The best-known Orkide in the country is a brand of sunflower oil, olive oil and margarine made by Küçükbay, a food company based in the İzmir region that dates its brand to 1979. It has nothing to do with lingerie. Orkide is simply the Turkish spelling of orchid, a popular name for businesses of every kind, and the lingerie label is a separate and much smaller company in Istanbul.

The record, such as it is

The fullest profile of the lingerie brand sits in the Fashion Model Directory, a fashion industry database running since 1998. It lists Orkide in Istanbul with a Turkish mobile phone number, the website orkideicgiyim.com, a Facebook page under the name orkideicgym and Instagram and Twitter accounts under orkidelingerie.

The same profile carries a short "About" text claiming the brand was founded in 2009 and sells dresses, skirts, blouses and jackets alongside swimwear and lingerie. That text reads like a generic summary, and nothing in the brand's own catalogs supports the ready-to-wear claims, so this entry does not rely on it. We treat 2009 as unconfirmed.

The website listed in the profile no longer belongs to the brand. When we checked in October 2026, orkideicgiyim.com was serving an unrelated Indonesian gaming page, a common fate for lapsed domains. We could not reach archived copies of the old site, and we found no press coverage or company registry entry we could match to the label.

Two catalogs and a house style

What survives are two sets of catalog images, both with the model Maggie Rawlins. The Spring/Summer 2021 set runs to 86 photographs, and the Autumn/Winter 2019 set is a second, earlier catalog. Both are shot in a bright, upmarket domestic setting: cream walls, a tan leather armchair, a white tufted sofa, polished floors.

The garments in the 2021 images we reviewed follow a clear formula:

• A smooth white strapless bra with molded cups and a wide band, worn with a lace-trimmed suspender belt and white stockings.
• A strapless balconette in ivory with scalloped lace edging along the cup line.
• A padded plunge bra in ivory lace with a strappy cage detail across the neckline.

The emphasis on white and ivory stands out. Sets like these are standard stock for brides and for the trousseau trade, which in Turkey has long included lingerie. Orkide's catalog never says it is selling bridal lingerie, and we could not confirm how it markets these pieces, but the styling points in that direction.

A small label in a big garment city

Orkide's home city matters more than its own paperwork. Istanbul is the center of Turkey's clothing trade, and a lingerie label there competes with national chains as well as with countless small makers selling under their own names. Orkide, with a phone number, a website and professional catalog shoots, appears to sit at the small end of that range.

The catalogs suggest some ambition all the same. A styled interior set and a run of more than 80 images is a real investment for a small brand, and points to selling online and to trade buyers rather than only over a shop counter. The products themselves, molded strapless bras, push-up plunges and suspender belts, are mainstream lingerie shapes made well, not experiments.

Gaps in the Orkide record

The founder, founding year, ownership, size and current status of Orkide are not public in any source we could check. We do not know whether the brand manufactures its own garments, where it sells outside Turkey, or whether it is still trading now that its old domain has lapsed. The 2021 catalog is the latest dated evidence of activity.

For now, the brand is best described by its pictures: white strapless bras, ivory lace and suspender belts, photographed in a cream-walled room that looks ready for a wedding morning.
