Trendyol Milla

Premium line from Trendyol, Turkey's largest e-commerce platform. Trendyol Milla offers elevated fashion including swimwear and intimate apparel with Mediterranean-inspired design, combining Turkish textile craftsmanship with contemporary European trends.

Trendyol Milla

Trendyol Milla is a women's fashion label sold under the name of Trendyol, the Istanbul-based e-commerce platform founded in 2010, and its range on the site includes swimwear and lingerie alongside clothing. It is an in-house label of a marketplace rather than an independent lingerie house, and the most useful way to understand it is through the company whose name it carries. Trendyol is one of Turkey's largest online retailers and has been majority owned by China's Alibaba Group since 2018.

Trendyol, from Harvard dropout to decacorn

Trendyol was founded in Istanbul in June 2010 by Demet Mutlu, with Evren Üçok and Begüm Tekin. Mutlu had left Harvard Business School after spotting, on a summer visit home, how undeveloped online fashion retail was in Turkey. The company started by selling clothing and later turned itself into a marketplace that lets Turkish merchants sell through the platform.

Growth was quick. Turkish Wikipedia says Trendyol reached a valuation of 16 million dollars in its first 16 months. In 2018 Alibaba made a strategic investment of 728 million dollars and added about 350 million dollars more over the next two years. In August 2021 a 1.5 billion dollar funding round, with SoftBank and General Atlantic among the investors, valued Trendyol at 16.5 billion dollars and made it Turkey's first decacorn. Alibaba held about 70 percent of the company in 2024.

Selling Turkish clothing abroad

The international push gives Trendyol Milla its reach. Trendyol opened a German office in 2022, and by 2024 about 1.5 million customers in Germany were buying from some 200 Turkish brands through the platform. It entered Azerbaijan and the Gulf states in 2023 through local partners, and Romania, Greece, Hungary and the Czech Republic in 2024. A women's label sold under the Trendyol name travels with all of that.

The textile base matters here. Turkey is one of Europe's largest garment and textile producers, with cotton, knitting and swimwear production close to the European Union. A marketplace that owns its own labels can draw on that supply chain directly.

What Trendyol Milla sells in swim and intimates

We could not open Trendyol's own product pages, so we cannot list the label's current swim and lingerie styles with confidence. What can be said is structural. A marketplace house label competes on price, speed and breadth of range, not on fit engineering or named fabrics. Its natural rivals are the high-street chains that sell bikinis, triangle bras and lace sets as part of a fashion wardrobe, such as Inditex's Oysho or the Italian chain Tezenis, rather than bra specialists that sell by band and cup. Swimwear suits that model well, because a bikini or Brazilian bottom is a seasonal, trend-led purchase where fit tolerances are forgiving.

A claim we could not check

Some catalog descriptions, including this site's earlier entry, call Trendyol Milla a "premium line" with "Mediterranean-inspired design" that combines "Turkish textile craftsmanship with contemporary European trends." We could not confirm any of this. Trendyol's own pages were not accessible to us, and neither English nor Turkish Wikipedia mentions the label. The "premium" claim in particular is doubtful for a label sold at marketplace prices. We have left that language out of the facts and record it here only so readers know where it came from.

What is not public

Trendyol does not publish a history of Milla in any source we could reach. Its launch year, its designers, where its garments are made and how its sales compare with the platform's other labels are all unknown to us. Nor does the company break out private-label revenue in the material Wikipedia summarizes.

That leaves an honest but limited picture. Trendyol Milla is the women's label of a very large Turkish marketplace, majority owned by Alibaba, selling swimwear and lingerie as part of a broad fast-fashion range to customers in Turkey, Germany, the Gulf and much of Eastern Europe. Its significance in lingerie terms is less about any single garment than about distribution: a platform with that reach can put a house label in front of millions of shoppers who will never visit a lingerie shop.
