Lingerie trends 2027 were set on the Spring/Summer 2027 runways in Milan and Paris in September and October 2026, and the trend reports published through 2026 by retailers such as Adore Me and Lavinia point the same way. Five ideas turn up again and again: the bra worn in plain sight, lace cut to frame skin, sheer fabric placed with intent, corsetry with the rigidity taken out, and sets that mix textures and colors instead of matching. Below each one are the houses and reports behind it, followed by what the same sources treat as finished.
One caution before the list. A runway look is not a sales figure, and a retailer's trend report is partly a catalog of what that retailer stocks. Where both kinds of source land on the same garment, the signal is worth taking seriously. Where only one does, it is noted.
The bra moves to the outside
The clearest runway signal of the season was the bra worn as a top. Who What Wear, reporting from Milan on September 29, 2026, wrote that Fendi and Marni "gave exposed bras a starring role." Essence, rounding up the whole fashion month on October 12, put "knit micro bras" and bandeau tops among its seven trends, citing Aisling Camps, Fendi and both of Miuccia Prada's labels.
The houses did it in different ways, which is what makes it a trend and not a single designer's whim:
| House | Show | What the bra looked like |
|---|---|---|
| Fendi | Milan, September 2026 | Lace-trimmed bralettes, a bralette and boxer-short set in pistachio silk |
| Prada | Milan, September 2026 | Bandeau tops over the knee-length skirts that ran through all 63 looks |
| Marni | Milan, September 2026 | Bra construction built into the garment itself |
| Miu Miu | Paris, October 4, 2026 | Sport bra tops covered in crystals |
| Chloe | Paris, October 1, 2026 | A single silver-and-gold-plated flower micro-bra |
Fendi went furthest. Maria Grazia Chiuri, in her second collection for the house, started from underwear, and W Magazine quoted the show notes describing it as "an interstitial layer between body and clothes, sometimes exposed, sometimes concealed." At Miu Miu, Miuccia Prada said she wanted "to lift up the sport; to bring elegance to the sport,", and the show turned the gym staple into an evening piece. Marni took the opposite route. The Impression's review of Meryll Rogge's collection noted that femininity came "not by the overt revealing of a bra, but its physical embedding into the construction of a garment."
The retail reports had already filed this under underwear as outerwear. Adore Me listed lingerie-as-outerwear in July 2026; Lavinia's September 2026 roundup described bodysuits, bras and slips styled visibly with tailoring.
Lace that frames skin
Lace is never absent from lingerie, so the news is in how it was cut. At Chloe, shown at the Paris Observatory on October 1, 2026, Chemena Kamali used broderie anglaise on cotton and organza and, as the Associated Press described it, cut lace away into "romantic harnesses" around bare skin, with metallic straps across the bust. W Magazine counted lace bodysuits under tailoring and negligee dresses in the same show.
Fendi's version was more domestic: lace-trimmed slips with plunging V-necks, half-slips and turquoise bloomers. The Impression wrote that Chiuri had access to "some of the best lace and decorative trims available."
The most significant lace story of the season came from a lingerie house. La Perla presented Collection #00 in Milan in late September 2026, its first after about three years of inactivity, under chief executive Alessio Vannetti and owner Luxury Holding. Milano Finanza reported that the presentation mixed new pieces with reissued archive designs and named the techniques on display: Leavers lace, Cornely embroidery, soutache, frastaglio cutwork and macrame. Il Foglio's review of the week tied the lingerie-style tops and corsets on the high street to "La Perla's return to the market." The company also announced an Accademia La Perla, to open in early 2027 and train apprentices in its Bologna atelier.
On the retail side, Adore Me's report singled out stretch lace in geometric and floral patterns, and Lavinia listed embroidery and tactile lace under its "romantic ornament" heading.
Sheer, but placed
Transparency is the third point of agreement, with a change in emphasis. Fewer full see-through looks, more sheer panels where a seam would normally be.
At Ferragamo, shown at the Triennale in Milan in September 2026, Maximilian Davis cut sheer draped dresses, put sheer panels on skirts and made slip dresses with belts running across the bust. Who What Wear said the Ferragamo show made the decolletage "the season's most important erogenous zone." Essence counted Calvin Klein, Brandon Maxwell, Simkhai and Thom Browne among designers who paired see-through layers with plainer separates.
Adore Me's report described the underwear version: sheer lingerie made wearable by embroidery and layered fabric, which control where the opacity falls. Lavinia called it "intentional sheerness," built from fine mesh and embroidered tulle.
Corsetry with the boning taken out
Both trend reports describe the corset getting softer. Adore Me's July 2026 report called them reimagined corsets with softer boning, stretch panels and flexible fabric. Lavinia led its list with "soft structure," support from flexible fabric and refined seams in place of obvious rigidity, and put balconette, demi, longline and bustier shapes under a separate heading of shaped silhouettes.
The runways offered fewer literal corsets than the reports did. Il Foglio did name lingerie-style corsets among the Milan pieces heading for the high street. Fendi's velvet robe dresses and Ferragamo's belted bust lines carry the same idea, shape drawn on the body without a steel frame. This is the trend with the thinnest runway evidence of the five.
Mixed sets in deeper colors
The matched set is loosening. Adore Me described a move away from identical sets toward pairings that combine complementary colors and textures, with mesh, satin and ribbed knits beside lace. Lavinia's "modern matching" comes to the same thing from the other side: coordinated sets, but in mixed textures and with a choice of panty cuts.
On color, both reports list jewel tones next to muted pastels. Fendi's runway sat on the pastel side: black, dusty rose, butter yellow and pistachio, according to W Magazine, with velvet against parchment and animal print on silk, according to Grazia. The texture mixing is the part the runway and the reports share.
The underwire argument
This is the one place where the sources pull in different directions. Comfort is the dominant theme in the retail press. Adore Me lists wider straps, flexible underbands and stretch fabric as a trend of its own. In May 2026 US Weekly ran a guide to so-called jelly bras, a wireless bra that uses flexible silicone-like gel in place of a wire, framed explicitly as a replacement for underwire.
Victoria's Secret is pushing the other way. A New York Times profile of chief creative officer Adam Selman, published in late September 2026, said the brand is emphasizing FlexFactor, an underwire made from a titanium alloy. Its fashion show returns on October 18, 2026 in Los Angeles, streamed on YouTube. Whether the wire is coming back is a question for the till, not the runway, and no source yet has the numbers.
What lingerie trends 2027 leave behind
Three things come up as finished, or at least tired. First, minimalism: Who What Wear described Milan as a shift toward "expressive clothes that feel imperfect, thrown on." Second, the strictly matched set, replaced in both retail reports by mixed textures. Third, the rigid corset as a fashion piece, replaced by stretch panels and softer boning.
One older idea has not faded: the slip. Fendi, Ferragamo and Chloe all sent slip or negligee shapes out in September and October 2026, which makes it the most widely shared lingerie garment of the season and the least discussed.
