The thong has a triangular front panel and a narrow strip (about 1–2 cm wide) of fabric running between the cheeks to connect the front to the back waistband. Coverage is minimal — the rear is essentially bare.
Thongs became mainstream in the 1990s and remain one of the most popular panty styles because they eliminate visible panty lines (VPL) under fitted clothing.
How to Identify
- Narrow fabric strip (not string) running between the cheeks
- Triangular front panel
- Waistband is a regular width, not a string
- Rear coverage is essentially zero
