MAT lingerie

MAT Lingerie is a Polish women's underwear brand made by MAT Sp. z o.o. Sp. komandytowa, a company registered at Bystrzycka 24 in Białystok. The firm describes itself as a Polish lingerie producer with 30 years of experience on the market, which dates its beginnings to the mid-1990s, although it publishes no exact founding year and no founders' names. It sells bras, briefs, sets, corsets and hosiery, and it makes a point of offering its bras in an unusually wide spread of cup and band sizes.

The company behind MAT

The legal structure is typical of Polish family and mid-sized firms: a limited partnership whose general partner is a limited company. The business is entered in the National Court Register under KRS number 0000318505, with the tax number 9661976470 and the statistical number 200242872. The company does not explain how the current legal entity relates to the business it started three decades ago, and this entry does not guess at it.

MAT Lingerie's bra wardrobe

The shop sorts its bras the way a fitter would. There are six main constructions: push-up, soft cup, half-padded, fully padded, bralette and a bardot style cut wide across the shoulders. Shoppers can also filter by lace or smooth cups, wireless models, open-back designs and decorative straps.

Then there are the size sections. MAT keeps separate departments for large sizes and small sizes, and it stresses that its models come "in very many cup sizes and in various band widths." That is the heart of the pitch. Fitting women outside the standard size grid, with bigger cups on narrower bands or small cups cut on their own patterns, is a specialty that several Polish makers share, among them Ewa Michalak and Comexim. Collections and seasons

The current range is organized into named collections, among them Basic, Carmela and Estelle, plus seasonal drops such as autumn-winter 2024/25 and spring-summer 2025. Basic does what the name says: plain, smooth everyday pieces meant to disappear under clothing. The named lines carry the lace and color, and matching briefs are sold to complete the sets. Releasing new work twice a year, in step with the fashion calendar, is a habit MAT shares with much larger European houses.

Briefs come in three main cuts: classic figi, thongs and Brazilian styles. Corsets have their own section, and hosiery is sold too, including tights from the partner brand Gabriella, so the shop covers the whole underwear drawer rather than bras alone.

Comfort as the stated goal

MAT's own description of its aims is plain. It wants lingerie that is "not only beautiful, but also extremely comfortable," made from good materials and fitted to different body types. Plenty of brands say the same. What gives the claim some weight here is the size grid and a two-year warranty on the whole range, a promise few low-to-mid priced lingerie makers put in writing.

Białystok neighbors

MAT shares its home city with Gorteks, another Polish lingerie maker that claims close to three decades in business and sells a similar mix of bras, shapewear and corsets direct to customers. Both offer free delivery in Poland above 70 zloty. Two firms of the same age, in the same northeastern city, selling to the same shoppers with almost the same terms, say a good deal about how the Polish lingerie trade has organized itself since the 1990s.
